after the Holidays... From Toxic to Tuned Up!
We all have heard of post-holiday workouts to shed all the unwanted fats we’ve incurred after indulging from the holiday season. While working out is a great way to make sure we stay healthy after all the holiday feasts, it is absolutely best to combine our routines with some healthy detox drinks.
Detox drinks do not always have to be very complex, they only need to be healthy. To help you start a great healthy habit this year, we have compiled a few simple detox drink recipes you can start with.
- Fresh Cranberry Juice
This one is a known and proven detox drink you can have on its own. No need to add too many herbs and ingredients, as each cranberry is packed with antioxidants to cleanse your body. Not only will it help you detoxify, but will also help you improve urinary tract health. Dilute one part cranberry juice in three parts of water, and that’s all you need. - Lemonade Cleanse
Another popular detox drink is good old-fashioned lemonade. Its natural ascorbic acid helps you get rid of toxins and boosts your immune system as well. For best results, mix 2 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice with 2 tablespoons maple syrup and 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Dilute the mixture in 8 ounces of purified water. Cleansing would mean you cannot eat anything else other than this detox drink. - Detox Dandelion Tea
There have been a lot of studies about dandelion and its antioxidant properties. Dandelions appear to contain calcium, potassium, iron, and Vitamin A. Because tea is a natural diuretic, it helps your body release harmful toxins to help improve your immune system. Brew 6 tablespoons of dried dandelion root with 12 tablespoons of fresh dandelion leaves in 4 cups of boiling water. This mixture is enough to cleanse up until your liver and kidneys as well.
Staying healthy may take some work and effort, but will help you enjoy all the things in life you are passionate about. If you have slacked about your health and fitness last year, make amends with your body this year. Start 2018 with a adding any of these detoxifying drinks to your daily routine.
